Belonging
The possessions we cherish say a lot about who we are, where we have been, and where we hope to get to...
Every belonging holds a story.
This striking audio and photography exhibition was created with female refugees living in North Glasgow and was presented in partnership with Rosemount Lifelong Learning Centre. Over eight weeks, we worked with the group to compose photographs, text and audio material, with and about their chosen possessions to explore what and how objects define who we are.
This was first presented at Springburn Library Gallery as part of Refugee Week 2009. We were then invited to present it again at Mono Bar in 2010 and Cranhill Development Trust in 2011.
This collaboration between Catrin Evans, Maryam Hamidi, and photographer Julia Bauer was the second project with this group.
