we incite this meeting...our latest show!

What do you get when you invite 10 women into a tearoom and ask them to share their stories?

For thousands of years, women have met, under the guise of social gatherings, to inspire, to organise - and to change the world. Tea and Revolution go hand in hand! In 2023, the fight for equality is far from over. Inspired by Emmeline Pankhurst’s rallying cry “I incite this meeting to rebellion!” we're asking: "What remains to be done, and how are we going to do it?" On 13 and 14 September 2023, our Women's Creative Company performed we incite this meeting... at the Changing House studio in Tron Theatre - a storytelling piece exploring the kick-ass nature of women, and what can be achieved when we get together and organise.

The passion of the cast - Inspiring!
A wonderful performance with a powerful message I wish it was a longer run, so I could bring pals along to see it!
I am leaving full of energy and joy! (Audience feedback)

The piece was devised by the company and directed by Kirstin McLean. It is a culmination of the Possible Worlds project funded by Creative Scotland and The National Lottery Communities Fund. Kirstin said:

It has been an honour and a joy to work with Women's Creative Company on we incite this meeting...
I was consistently inspired by the hard work and bravery of these women as they told their stories, wrote new stories, pushed themselves out of their comfort zones and found their voice in performance. All the women involved, myself included, have had a profound experience - one which saw an improvement in self-confidence, sisterhood, mental health and happiness, and resulted in a spectacular piece of theatre."

We incite this meeting... was a sell-out show and the positive audience feedback has been overwhelming. We're planning a remount in Glasgow followed by a Scottish tour in the new year as we want to give so many more people the opportunity to see this thought-provoking, funny and moving piece.

We are currently seeking both financial support and partnership with venues. Please get in touch if you would like to donate to make this happen or you are a venue who would like to host the show:
